This Family Fishing Class will introduce you and your family to the wonders of water, fish, and fishing. State certified instructors pass along information and expertise they've gained while angling in local waters for many years. Demonstrations and activities making learning fun for adults and kids alike. Class includes a fishing trip to Great Hollow Lake.
During the classroom portion we will cover all the basics to get started fishing in an interactive setting will touch on equipment, knots, proper bail selection, rules and regulations, casting, and hot to take care of your catch. Each family will receive the CARE program created "Let's Go Fishing" student workbook. All rods, reels, and tackle will be provided for students to borrow, though you may bring your own. Students will have to bring their own bait. Minimum age is 9 and all children must have parents participating with them.

Requests must be submitted in writing. They will be prorated from the time of notification and $10 processing fee is withheld from each program withdrawal. The balance will be applied to your household account to use for a future program. If the refund is due to medical reasons, a full refund will be issued as long as your request is accompanied by a doctor’s note.
The Monroe Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to change schedules/locations as necessary and cancel programs due to insufficient registration or lack of instructor(s).
Place programs in cart and follow instructions all the way thru. You can either pay online or create a registration form and pay by check. If paying by check you must include your driver’s license number or your registration will be returned. Once we receive your check, we apply it to your online registration form. No one is registered until payment is received and applied to your online registration form. If you do not create an online registration form and come to our office for us to create one for you, an additional $10 fee will be assessed.
