Learn how to be your own first responder for family and friends. Every minute is important in an emergency.
This half-day class will help prepare families in the event of a medical emergency and teach you how to help someone in the event of a cardiac arrest or choking emergency. Participants will also learn how to use an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED). There will be hands-on practice of CPR for adults, children and infants, as well the AED.
Some of the topics covered include when and how to call 911, and developing an Emergency Action Plan, and preparing a first aid kit. Discussions on a variety of topics from allergic reactions and treatments for bleeding control to diabetic shock symptoms will be covered.
