Etiquette

First Impressions is an etiquette training program that provides instruction in good manners for children and teens. Good manners and an appropriate image are important for success in school, on the job or in any other social or business environment.

Social, Communication & Dining Skills
Topics can include: Common Courtesies, Behavior in Public Places, Appropriate Host & Guest Behaviors, Dress and Grooming for All Occasions, Proper Greetings and Introductions, Conversation & Listening Skills, Telephone and Electronic Etiquette, Thank You Notes, Mealtime Manners, Proper Use of Utensils, Glassware & Dishes, Handling Accidents, Body Language at the Table, Restaurant & Party Etiquette.**Age appropriate


Social, Communication & Dining Skills "Express"
Designed for the high school student with a busy schedule, this two hour class emphasizes the importance of having good manners in all aspects of life. Topics include: Initial Impressions, Dress for Success, Conversation and Listening, Etiquette in Public Places, Electronic Etiquette, Place Settings, Identifying Utensils, China and Glassware, Proper Use of Napkins and Utensils, Styles of Dining, Menus, Mealtime Manners and much more.

Refunds
Refunds must be submitted in writing. They will be prorated and $10 processing fee is withheld from each request. The balance will be applied to your household account to use for a future program. If the refund is due to medical reasons, a full refund will be issued as long as your request is accompanied by a doctor’s note.

The Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel any program due to insufficient registration or lack of instructor(s).
