Since 1979, Skyhawks sports has led safe, fun and skill-focused sports camps and programs for youth between the ages of 3-12. They offer different sports--and countless ways for your child to grow. All Skyhawks programs are held at Wolfe Park.
Flag Football - Boys and girls learn skills on both sides of the football including the core components of passing, catching, and defense - all in a fun and positive environment. Tuesday and Wednesday from 12-1 will be pool time so be sure to bring a swim suit and towel.
Multi-Sport (soccer, baseball, basketball and flag football) - This camp is designed to introduce young athletes to a variety of different sports in one setting. Athletes will learn the rules and essentials of each sport through skill-based games and scrimmages. By the end of the week, your child will walk away with knowledge of multiple sports along with vital life lessons such as respect, teamwork, and self- discipline. Tuesday and Wednesday from 12-1 will be pool time so be sure to bring a swim suit and towel.
Beginning Golf - Boys and girls will learn the fundamentals of swinging, putting and body positioning. Using the ShortGolf system, simplifying instruction so that young players can make an easy and effective transition onto the golf course. All equipment provided.
Sports and Games Camps - Skyhawks provides a wide variety of fun, safe, and positive programs that emphasize critical lessons in sports and life, such as teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship. Programs are designed to give each child a positive introduction into sports while fostering a lifelong love for an active, healthy lifestyle. Sports and games include capture the flag, soccer, ultimate Frisbee, basketball, kickball, baseball, 4 square, flag football, team handball, and many more. Tuesday and Wednesday from 12-1 will be pool time so be sure to bring a swim suit and towel.
Mini-Hawk (soccer, baseball and basketball) - This multi-sport program gives children a positive first step into athletics. The essentials of each sport are taught in a safe, structured environment with lots of encouragement and a focus on fun. All games and activities are designed to allow campers to explore balance, movement, hand/eye coordination, and skill development at their own pace.
Lacrosse - Combines the basic skills used in soccer, basketball and hockey into one fast-paced, high-scoring game. Athletes will learn the fundamentals of stick handling, cradling, passing, and shooting in a fun, non-checking environment. Participants can bring their own equipment, which should include protective head gear, gloves and stick plus goggles for girls. Equipment kits can be rented for $29.99 at www.skyhawks.com. Sand Volleyball - All aspects of volleyball are taught through drills and exercises that focus on passing, setting, hitting, and serving. This program is designed for the beginning and intermediate player. Our staff will assist boys and girls in developing the fundamental skills through game-speed drills and daily scrimmages aimed at developing the whole player. Tuesday and Wednesday from 12-1 will be pool time so be sure to bring a swim suit and towel.
Track and Field Clinic - Skyhawks Track & Field combines technical development, fundamental techniques, and safety with a major focus on fun! Using special equipment, boys and girls learn the fundamental of body positioning, stride, proper stretching and cool-down techniques.
Stem & Play Soccer Camp - This program combines strategic STEM-based.activities with traditional Skyhawks soccer instruction and a focus on life skills such as teamwork and sportsmanship. STEM Sports soccer curriculum gives students the opportunity to get behind the sport they love with modules on soccer ball design, throw-in science, angles, and goal-line technology. Participants will also learn the fundamentals of passing,s hooting,dribbling, and defense through skill-based drills and scrimmages.
Stem & Play Volleyball Camp - The STEM Sports volleyball curriculum enables students the opportunity to get behind the sport they love with modules centered around innovation and technology. Subjects include calculating contact time, optimal serving speed, the science behind serving and more! Participants will also learn the fundamentals of passing, setting hitting, and serving through skill-based drills and scrimmages.
